New refrigeration technology maximizes savings in both heating and cooling

​EcoBuilt’s MAQFrigeration patented geothermal ground-loop technology employs cutting edge technology to maximize energy savings in both the heating and cooling sectors.  Geothermal ground loop systems take advantage of the fact that the earth is like a giant battery that is being recharged with solar energy.  Some of that energy is reflected into the atmosphere, while the remainder is stored in the outer crust of the earth’s soil and rock surface.  Below about five feet the temperature stays at a constant temperature that can be used as a heat source or heat sink and is accessed by running pipes through the ground with liquids.  The liquids carry the desired temperature to the area that it is needed.  Running a cool fluid through the pipes absorbs heat from the earth to warm the liquid, while running warm or hot liquid through the pipes transfers heat to the earth – thus cooling the liquid.  (Heat always moves to cold.
